About Me

If You Are Reading This

My name is Ronnie Young and thanks for checking out my personal site. It is built with basic HTML, CSS, and Javascript. I used SASS for the design, which created the CSS. If you are a potential employeer I have listed some of the technologies I am familar with below and if you have any questions feel free to reach out my contact information is in the footer.

A Little about Me

My name is Ronnie Young I am 29 and live in Nashville Tennessee where I attended Nashville Software School. Before this I lived in Kansas City, attended JSCC for Computer Information Systems degree, and worked in banking. Before that I lived in East Tennessee and went to The University of Tennessee.

My Projects

  • HTML, CSS, Javascript
  • CSS
  • Javascript
  • Development
  • Parralex

My own personal site

This was the first development I ever did. I was sitting in a bank all day not doing much at all, expect hanging out and doing whatever work came my way. I wanted more and now I have it. I created this to see if I could and it was my baby, right up until I wanted to redo it for 2019. I learned everything from building this site from html, css, to DigitalOcean Virtual Machines.

  • React
  • APIs
  • Bootstrap
  • 4 Weeks
  • Difficulty: Hard

Allbeta: Budget

This was my first big solo project. I goofed off for the two weeks that were given and had to make up for it on vacation, but in the end it was worth it to have created something that could have replaced me at my old job.

  • Django
  • APIs
  • Bootstrap
  • 1 Week
  • Difficulty: Medium

Run for It!

This was my second big solo project and my final at Nashville Software School. I loved this one, probably because I still had the fear from falling behind of the first one. I got it done ASAP and really learned a lot about Django.

  • React
  • APIs
  • Bootstrap
  • Udemy
  • Difficulty: Medium

Robo Pals

This was the final project for Andrei Neagoie's Udemy course. This course refreshed a lot of the things I learned at Nashville Software School and brought me up to speed on using other people's APIs and keys. It also introduced me to NodeJS.

  • Design
  • Responsive Design
  • Udemy
  • Difficulty: Medium

Natours

This was the project for Jonas Schmedtmann's Natours course. He designed and built a beautiful site, while teaching SASS. It actually inspired a ton of this site and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to delve deeper into design and SASS.

RRYoung

This is my new site. I designed it after taking a ton of online courses. I dig it, but want to improve it and add a blog. I did this on January first 2019 and would like to do something every day for the year. Thanks for checking it out.

Technologies

HTML

Hypertext Markup Language is the standard markup language for creating web pages and web applications. With Cascading Style Sheets and JavaScript, it forms a triad of cornerstone technologies for the World Wide Web.

CSS

Cascading Style Sheets is a style sheet language used for describing the presentation of a document written in a markup language like HTML. CSS is a cornerstone technology of the World Wide Web, alongside HTML and JavaScript.

Javascript

JavaScript, often abbreviated as JS, is a high-level, interpreted programming language that conforms to the ECMAScript specification. It is a language that is also characterized as dynamic, weakly typed, prototype-based and multi-paradigm.

ReactJS

In computing, React is a JavaScript library for building user interfaces. It is maintained by Facebook and a community of individual developers and companies. React can be used as a base in the development of single-page or mobile applications.

Python

Python is an interpreted, high-level, general-purpose programming language. Created by Guido van Rossum and first released in 1991, Python has a design philosophy that emphasizes code readability, notably using significant whitespace. It provides constructs that enable clear programming on both small and large scales.

Django

Django is a Python-based free and open-source web framework, which follows the model-view-template architectural pattern. It is maintained by the Django Software Foundation, an independent organization established as a 501 non-profit. Django's primary goal is to ease the creation of complex, database-driven websites.

APIs

In computer programming, an application programming interface is a set of subroutine definitions, communication protocols, and tools for building software. In general terms, it is a set of clearly defined methods of communication among various components

Object Oriented Programming

Object-oriented programming is a programming paradigm based on the concept of "objects", which may contain data, in the form of fields, often known as attributes; and code, in the form of procedures, often known as methods.

Test Driven Development

Test-driven development is a software development process that relies on the repetition of a very short development cycle: requirements are turned into very specific test cases, then the software is improved to pass the new tests, only.

GIT

Git is a version-control system for tracking changes in computer files and coordinating work on those files among multiple people. It is primarily used for source-code management in software development, but it can be used to keep track of changes in any set of files.

Swift

Swift is a general-purpose, multi-paradigm, compiled programming language developed by Apple Inc. for iOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, Linux and z/OS. Swift is designed to work with Apple's Cocoa and Cocoa Touch frameworks and the large body of existing Objective-C code written for Apple products. Swift is a hobby of mine.

Node. JS

Node.js is an open-source, cross-platform JavaScript run-time environment that executes JavaScript code outside of a browser.

SASS

Test-driven development is a software development process that relies on the repetition of a very short development cycle: requirements are turned into very specific test cases, then the software is improved to pass the new tests, only.

GitHub

GitHub Inc. is a web-based hosting service for version control using Git. It is mostly used for computer code. It offers all of the distributed version control and source code management functionality of Git as well as adding its own features.

Others

I made the section with the reason to say that it does not matter what technologies I know. I am capable of learning more and willing to apply myself to those task. If weather or not one langague is known or not is irrelvant. I am willing to learn and apply myself.
